On March 8, 2013 my Mother - Charity Meacham - succumbed to colorectal cancer after 13 years of waging a valiant battle against this disease. To say that the loss of this remarkable woman has left a void in our family is an understatement. Anyone that is a survivor or has been a caregiver to someone with this disease understands the hardships that come along with a diagnosis of colon cancer.
Colon cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death. But it doesn't have to be this way; through screening, it is one of the most preventable diseases.
I've teamed up with the Colon Cancer Alliance’s (CCA) National Dress in Blue Day. I’m raising funds, promoting screening and honoring those affected by colon cancer. On March 7, 2014 I will be hosting a Zumbathon at Majesty Loft - 180 Bloomfield Ave. Montclair, NJ to raise money to help CCA in it's fight against colon cancer.
Please join us at our first annual fundraising event in Charity's memory or make an online contribution today. Your gift benefits the Colon Cancer Alliance’s prevention, research and patient support programs and brings us one step closer to a future free of colon cancer.
Thank you for helping the Colon Cancer Alliance knock colon cancer out of the top three cancer killers.
