2017 Denver Undy Run/Walk
Herd of Turtles
Herd of Turtles is back for its 6th annual Undy Run. Actually, it's more like our 5th annual, as, per Ken's request, we skipped it in 2014.
Ken was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer on August 5th, 2010. He underwent a colectomy to remove the tumor, then spent 6 months in chemotherapy. When that was completed, we believed he was cured. We married and started the rest of our lives, looking forward to our future together. However, on May 1st, 2012, we learned the cancer had returned with a vengence. It had metastasized to his liver and was inoperable. This time, his diagnosis was terminal. Ken fought hard against his cancer, the chemo, the radiation, and all of the associated side effects, but his body just couldn't take it anymore. Ken passed away at 2:17pm on Sunday September 14, 2014. I still love and miss him every single day!
We continue to walk, in Ken's memory, hoping that the funds we raise will help with medical advancements so that maybe, one day, a cure will be found!
