Our family experienced 2 major blows in 2016:
In April our beautiful son Brian, now 34, was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer. Several months later my sister Jean learned she had early stage rectal cancer. There was no family history of this disease on either side, and in Brian's case, no warning signs. Brian continues to undergo and is responding very well to treatment. He lives his life to the fullest, including frequent rock-climbing escapades with his fiancee, Helene. Jean recently had curative surgery and is adjusting to the resultant changes in her life .
With great love and to honor their boundless courage and strength, I am participating in the 2017 Washington DC Scope It Out 5K on Sunday, March 19th at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC.
Please support my involvement in this event with a tax-deductible donation. Your contribution will help prevent colorectal cancer and save lives.
