Dear Friends and Family,
We are participating in the 2017 Denver Undy Run/Walk Saturday, June 24 at City Park. Would love to have you join "Team Semi-Colon" if you can and/or make a donation to support thus cause. Colon cancer
As many of you know the fall of 2015 was a whirlwind. I married my best friend Eric Lehnertz in September 2015 and we celebrated a fantastic honeymoon the following month in Hawaii. Unfortunately sometimes bad news will accompany good.
Shortly after my honeymoon, I was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer. I underwent surgery and finished 6 months of chemotherapy on May 3, 2016. Overall my prognosis is good - just some residual neuropathy in my fingers and not much feeling in my feet. I am thankful to be a survivor and share my experience with others, as many are not able. I encourage all of my friends and family to listen to their bodies and take good care of themselves. Cancer is non-discriminating. Please - if you even suspect anything is wrong with your health, pursue it! If I can help just one person by sharing this and encourage all of you to listen to your sixth sense, my job is done.
Colorectal cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death among men and women combined in the United States. In 2017, it's estimated there will be 135,430 new cases and 50,260 deaths from colon and rectal cancers. 1 in 20 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer.
Please support my involvement in the Undy Run/Walk with a tax-deductible donation. Your support will help us prevent colorectal cancer and save lives.
Thank you to all my friends and family for your support the past year and a half! Love you guys!
