I am participating in the 2016 Dallas-Ft. Worth Undy Run/Walk Saturday, November 12 at Levitt Pavillion.
When I was away at college, my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer. I remember the overwhelming feeling knowing that something was wrong with my mom and I was so far away. Thankfully my mother is one tough cookie and her cancer was caught very early.
Having colon cancer fueled her already strong passion for prevention to a whole new level. She reminds all the kids almost every year about when we will need a colonoscopy and about any article on how to reduce your risks.
Then we found out my father had colon cancer. He was not as lucky as my mother, partially due to already having colitis. After he passed, I wanted to do more. I know I can't stop this disease from effecting more lives. Colon and rectal cancer is still estimated to be the 2nd deadliest cancer behind Lung according to the American Cancer Center. But, I want to do my part and raise awareness and support.
Please support my involvement in the Undy Run/Walk with a tax-deductible donation. Your support will help us prevent colorectal cancer and save lives.
