Kath's Excellent Adventure
Kath's recovery from surgery Feb 9, 2010 that removed my colon preventing cancer is ON. Life has forever been changed and can't look back now. Help me recover & have some fun at the same time in my quest to walk the 1 mile.
Without my dad, now a 24 year survivor of Big "C" & counting, helping me every day for the last 3.5 weeks during my bumpy road, I do not know what I would do.
Wish my ^mom^ were here to see how hard I have fought the last 4 years but know that I wouldn't be here without my guardian angel. ^Mom^ knew what a pain in the butt I was being born 12 weeks early and still continue to be as a a feisty never give up person (though it was tough for the last 4 months).
My 4 Fightin' Texas Aggie sisters are behind me in spirit and person today. My many aunts, uncles, brother (in laws), and 10 nieces & nephews have kept up the support also. I am sure I have the title of most expensive kid medically out of my 4 sisters by now for sure. (Not a title I think they want either).
I must thank Dr. Donna Graessle of Kansas City, Missouri, for being a great GI doctor whose instincts saved my life 4 years ago Feb 13th. Don't ever take having a colonoscopy even at 30 years of age lightly after my experience. I am glad that no one else in my family has to deal with colon problems like polyps or pancolitis but great doctors can change your life for the better.
Dr. Aman Singh of St. Louis has been a great help the last 5 months. Never crossed my mind when I moved to St. Louis to escape severe Asthma that I was opening a different door for another medical problem. I am very appreciative to Dr. Singh and Dr. Graessle for the their help and support especially related to surgery - that was supposed to be further down the road than it turned out to be.
