Blue Ribbon BBQ Tina Wright was well known for her family's secret recipe BBQ sauce handed down from her father. After she passed away from colon cancer in 2010, her children decided to take that recipe and go into the sauce business. But, it's not all business. D&W BBQ is giving back and honoring their mother's memory by donating a portion of their proceeds to the CCA to help others facing CRC. They have also set up an art scholarship in Tina's name. If you'd like to give D&W BBQ's Blue Ribbon Sauce a try, you can buy it online at www.dwbbq.com.

You could save someone's life, and that's the best birthday gift you could give. Wish someone a happy, healthy birthday today.
Undy Fever Continues
The 4th Annual Dallas and 2nd Annual DC Undy 5000 events both shattered previous years’ fundraising and participation records! At the DC Undy on November 5th, despite nearly-freezing temperatures, about 380 people turned out, raising nearly $100,000 to help support CCA patient programs.

CCA Welcomes New Team Member
The CCA’s Patient Support department recently welcomed Janelle Hill to the Helpline team. Janelle, a colon cancer survivor and mother of three, is currently the Secretary of the Voices Chapter of Central Arizona and has been very active in promoting and helping with the upcoming Phoenix Undy 5000. "I am looking forward to working for the CCA and sharing my knowledge and compassion with others. Cancer has ravaged my family, and I do not want anyone to have to go through what we have gone through,” she said. Janelle has an amazing story and we’re excited to have her. Welcome to the family, Janelle!
Which Diagnostic Test is Right for You?
Cancer is a complex disease that is becoming more complicated as new biomarkers and diagnostic tests are discovered. Depending on the results of biomarker testing, your doctor can select the right treatment for your specific cancer and avoid exposure to medicines that are not likely to be effective for you. Genentech recently launched a new website, www.RightTestRightTime.org, that helps explain what biomarkers and diagnostic tests are and what patients, whether they are newly diagnosed or have had a recurrence, should ask their healthcare team. Visit their website to learn more.
