Dress in Blue on March 4!
Make a difference. Dress in blue for colon cancer! Let's bring visibility to colon cancer in communities across the country. By raising awareness about this highly preventable cancer, we CAN make a difference. Join us in Denver, CO at the Marriott at City Center June 23-25 for the CCA National Conference. Family Matters: What You and Your Family Need to Know about Colon Cancer will feature presentations from national experts about screening, designing a treatment plan, options for those with advanced disease, tips for living with colon cancer and more. Registration is now open!
You are not alone. Make new friends with others like you! You can learn more or register today by visiting our website.
The Blue Note Fund Now Accepting Applications
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, nearly $20,000 has been raised for this unique program. Your donation to the Blue Note Fund will help a family who might be struggling to pay the rent, utilities or even put food on the table. If you haven’t yet given to the Blue Note Fund, we urge you to do so in the New Year, as applications for aid from the fund are now being accepted, and we want to help everyone we can. Sometimes, the most important thing a cancer patient needs is a little hope. Please, give today!
If you or someone you know needs help, please download and complete a Blue Note Fund application.
Employment and Cancer Webinar Replay
If you missed our latest webinar, don’t worry. You can watch a replay at your leisure. Representatives from Cancer and Careers and the Cancer Legal Resource Center address important employment issues such as: your legal rights in the workplace, disclosing your diagnosis, taking time off from work or working a modified schedule, discrimination at work and re-entering the workforce.
Olympus and the Colon Cancer Alliance have joined forces to encourage at-risk Americans to commit to being screened for colon cancer by taking the pledge at FinditFirst.com. For each screening commitment, Olympus will donate $1 to the CCA.
Make the commitment to get screened at FinditFirst.com. Get screened and please tell your friends and loved ones!
Profiles in Courage
At just 27 years old, Vanessa was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Now 37 and seven surgeries later, Vanessa is committed to helping others through the CCA Buddy Program and serves as the Chairperson of the New York Voices Chapter.
Vanessa's warm voice, humor and that great New York accent have helped many survivors and caregivers over the years. She is a wonderful part of the CCA family, and we are so grateful for her time and dedication to creating awareness to help prevent this disease.
