Blue Note Fund Spotlight: "Do Not Lose Hope!"
Two weeks ago, with the help of
our CCA chapters, we were able to give 100 financial awards to colon cancer
patients in need through our Blue Note Fund. These awards give hope to patients
like Vladimir Lopez, from Bronx, NY, who used the award to help him and his
family get back on their feet. “My family and close friends have been my
inspiration to keep fighting this cancer,” he says. When asked what he would
say to a newly diagnosed patient he said, “The best advice I can give any newly
diagnosed patient is that this is a disease that can be cured and do not lose

adieu to CEO Andrew Spiegel, as we announced his resignation from the CCA. Andrew’s personal dedication and his leadership during this time have truly elevated the CCA to the organization we are today. Andrew
remains committed to the cause and is currently serving as Executive Director
of the Global Colon Cancer Alliance (GCCA). The GCCA was launched in partnership with
EuropaColon to create a worldwide platform for all CRC organizations.

Our new Hero of the Month feature highlights inspiring individuals who are going above and beyond in the fight against colon cancer. This month's hero is Tess Fraser.
After Tess's mom was diagnosed with colon cancer, Tess decided she was going to help keep other families from being dealt this hand.
Ultimately, Tess took her own tragedy and turned it into something positive and motivating – helping save lives.
