CCA and Kellogg Team Up to Promote Colon Health
The CCA and Kellogg joined forces last month at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in San Diego to
promote good colon health and cancer screening. Visitors were able to "Journey to the Center of the Colon" through a walk-through inflatable colon to learn more about colon cancer, colon cancer prevention and other diseases that affect the colon. See pictures from the event or learn
more about this partnership.
CCA Patient Support Champion Steps Down
Jeannie
Moore, co-founder and patient support leader, began an extended leave of absence
this June. Mrs. Moore has been the heart
and soul of the patient support outreach efforts for over 10 years. Many would agree with Dr. Jose Mendoza, a
survivor and a CCA powerhouse volunteer, who said Jeannie “always has something positive to
say. You could just feel and hear her smiling voice. We will all miss her
dedication to her patients.”
Share how Jeannie has affected your life by posting on Facebook or emailing us at info@ccalliance.org.
CCA Announces New Patient Support Manager
While CCA co-founder and patient support pioneer Jeannie Moore will be irreplaceable, we are delighted to announce that CCA Patient Support Advocate, Martha
Raymond, will be taking the helm. Fighting colon cancer
and helping others is a personal passion for Martha. For the past several
years, she has been an active CCA Voices Volunteer and
mentor in the CCA Buddy program.
Congrats, Martha!

You Have the Power

When Regina Hersey
passed away after her battle with colon cancer, her daughter, Kathleen, and her
husband, Brian, set up a Blue Star Tribute in her memory. Thanks to the
generosity of their family and friends, the Regina
Hersey Blue Star Tribute has raised over $15,000 to date. Pictured to the

member of the U.S. Olympic swimming team.
Create your own customized fundraising Blue Star Tributes page. Whether you are honoring a special
someone, celebrating a milestone or participating in an athletic event, you
will be making a difference in the lives of those who depend upon the CCA for

Correction
In the Profiles in Courage section of last month’s issue, we mistakenly
reported that Joe underwent his first colonoscopy at age 50. The correct age
was 65. We regret the error.
